Leisure time with unlimited possibilities

The Costa Blanca is unbeatable these days with its leisure and cultural offers. Sun and beach still take first place on the favourites lists of any tourist. These of course can be enjoyed in the beautiful interior or on the wonderful white beaches. On the official web-site of the Valencia Ministry of Tourism
www.comunitatvalenciana.com you will find information about the beaches, services and even web-cams as well as interesting details about local fiestas, culinary delights, nature and leisure offers.
Above
all the Costa Blanca has become a paradise for water
sports and golfing during the
autumn and winter months. Should you fancy an
adventurous holiday, then there are no limits either: canyoning,
rafting, cable-ski, quads-excursions or diving expeditions. The programme for
hikers is far more relaxed than the
previously mentioned activities. Apart from the hot months of July and August
they’ll find ideal conditions in the surrounding mountains.
Mountainbiking as well is becoming more
popular all the time.
For
the less sporty inclined there are lots of other possibilities. Leisure- and
water-parks as well as safari-parks and
zoos,
museums, mini-golf, bowling, boat trips or a journey in the famous
“Lemon-Express”
train help to pass those precious leisure hours. A night at the
medieval castle in Albir is an experience
not to be missed.
And if you feel the need to be pampered and looked after, then one of the many wellness-centres and spas will surely come up to your expectations. Extensive information about all these subjects is to be found under www.costablanca.org.
Things to do around Altea
Just
1 kilometre from the Casa Altea you’ll find tennis and padel courts as well as
the 9-hole-golf course Don Cayo. Altea
itself diposes of a beautiful Marina, a tennis club as well as a musical ans
arts centre. 12 kilometres on, in the tourist town of Benidorm there is
Aqualandia, a big aquatic leisure park as
well as an aquatic zoo with all sorts of fish and sea animals. A must is
Terra Mitica, the huge theme and leisure
park for the whole family, and Terra Natura,
where all kinds of wild animals are to be seen. Close to these parks 2
wonderful new 18-hole-golf courses have
been created and last but not least Europe’s biggest and most spectacular
wellness centre.
In the interior, only about 10 kilometres from Altea you enter into a completely different world and are greeted by orange groves, picturesque small villages and a beautiful landscape. Wonderful walking trails are waiting to be discovered. 25 kilometres inland there is also the famous Safari Sark Aitana,
Other excursions could lead you to the well known coastal towns of Calpe, Moraira, Jávea and Dénia. A visit to the capital of the province Alicante is strongly recommended. The port, the most beautiful promenade the “Rambla”, as well as the old town must be seen and the rustic but at the same time sophisticated atmosphere must be experienced.
